THE SET UP...
SET UP TAKES LESS THAN A MINUTE.
The game should look like this when you are set up and ready to play.
-
1. QUESTION CARDS:
Keep the cards in their separate, individual category decks. Shuffle each deck of cards and place them into 4 piles near the board. These cards are used when you land on a question space (see the Question Card Spaces section below).
-
2. ACTION CARDS:
Shuffle the action card deck and put them in a pile near to the board. These help with the game play and they can make or break your race! These cards are. used when you land on an action space (see the Action Card Spaces section below).
-
3. WHO GOES FIRST:
Place the wooden tokens on the start position. Roll both dice. Whoever gets the highest number goes first. If you tie, then roll again. The game is played clockwise with the other players. You get one turn each, then it's the next players turn.
READY TO RACE?
Decide how many laps you would like to play before you start.
1 lap with two players = about 20 minutes.
HOW TO PLAY:
Collapsible content
1. ROLL THE SIX-SIDED DICE
Roll the 6-sided dice and move forward that number of spaces. Follow the instruction based on the space you land on:
- QUESTION SPACE: Try to answer a question (see question card spaces tab below).
- ACTION SPACE: Draw and follow an Action Card's instructions (see action card spaces tab below).
- BLANK SPACE: No action, simply wait for your next turn.
You do not continue after your turn. You only get one turn each, then it moves to the next player.
2. QUESTION CARD SPACES
LAY THE QUESTION CARDS IN THEIR CATEGORY PILES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT IN ANY ORDER.
For example (from left to right)
1 = Motorsport
2 = Famous Drivers
3 = Classic Cars
4 = Supercars
When you land on a question space, you must answer a question.
ROLL THE 4-SIDED DICE:
This is to determine the category.
FOR EXAMPLE: If you roll a 1 (on the 4-die) the person to your left draws the top card from the motorsport category (or whichever category is on the left of the 4 piles).
TRY TO ANSWER THE QUESTION:
The player to your left reads the question and the multiple-choice answers aloud.
(The correct answer is highlighted on the card)
GET IT CORRECT? MOVE FORWARD BASED ON THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL:
Each card has a 'difficulty level' highlighted under the question... You do not know what difficulty level the question is, you find out after you try to answer.
If you answer the question correctly, you must move forward based on the difficulty level.
- LEVEL 1 (Easy): +1 space
- LEVEL 2 (Medium): +2 spaces
- LEVEL 3 (Hard): +3 spaces
That is the end of your go, you do not roll again until your next turn.
If you answer incorrectly, you stay where you are and the next person has their turn.
BE SURE TO READ THE EXPLAINER:
If you don't know the answer, each card has a short explainer at the bottom so you can understand the answer and learn more about cars and motorsport.
3. ACTION CARD SPACES
WHEN YOU LAND ON AN ACTION SPACE:
Draw the top card from the Action Card deck.
Read it aloud and apply the effect:
- GREEN CARDS: Move you forward
- RED CARDS: Send you backward
Place the used cards into a discard pile.
If all of the Action Cards are used, shuffle the discard pile to create a new deck and continue playing.
After you have taken your turn it's now the next players roll of the dice.
4. HOW TO WIN THE RACE
The first player to cross the finish line wins.
You do not need an exact roll. Just pass the finish line.
If multiple players reach the final space before the finish, the first to roll and cross wins.
5. ADDITIONAL RULES
Multiple players can share the same space
If you fall behind, don’t give up because a lot can change in one lap
Always confirm the number of laps you want to race before starting the game. 1 lap with two players = about 20 minutes.
